Sport played at Reed's
In the First to Third Form (Years 7 to 9), all boys are encouraged to engage in the major team sports of Rugby, Hockey and Cricket. We look to provide high quality training as well as competitive opportunity for all students across at least A-D team level.
Our Heads of Sport are hugely experienced and are fully supported by members of the sports department and teaching staff who share their enthusiasm for sport. All coaching staff aim to develop individuals technically, as well as building a clear tactical understanding of the sport, through the forming of cohesive teams.
Although the majority of pupils opt to continue with the major team sports, representing the school in block fixtures throughout the week and on the weekend, in the Fourth & Fifth Form (Years 10 – 11) there are a number of further games options available. These include athletics, badminton, basketball, gym, squash, swimming, table tennis and tennis. In the 6th Form, girls are all encouraged to play Hockey and Netball in at least their first year, while other sports are available for boys and girls including climbing, cross fit, football, sailing, squash and yoga.
The wide variety of sporting options are available for pupils to participate in as part of the Games Programme or the Activities Curriculum. We look to provide a sporting option for everyone and look to develop a lifelong love of sport in all our pupils.
