Friends of Reed's School & Parent Link

Parents are encouraged to be fully involved in the life and community of the School. Opportunities for socialising and fundraising for special projects are coordinated by the Friends of Reed’s School (FORS) assisted by the Parent Links in each year group.

FORS (Friends of Reed’s School)

Friends of Reed’s School (FORS) is a great way for parents to get to know each other and offers an important link between families and the life and community of the School. FORS gives parents an opportunity to socialise, whilst raising funds for special projects or extra facilities which are not normally catered for within the school or departmental budgets. There are many ways to get involved with FORS and we warmly encourage all parents to do so.

All parents automatically become members of FORS when their son or daughter joins Reed’s School. The ‘one off’ joining subscription is included in the first term’s fee and covers any siblings who subsequently join the school. A considerable sum of money is raised during the academic year, primarily from the main social events.

For details of FORS events please visit our events page.

FORS Committee

The FORS committee is run solely by elected parent members. New parent committee members are always welcome.

To contact us, please write to: FORS c/o Reed’s School or pop a letter in the FORS box at reception. Alternatively, you can email the Chair, Angelique Boomsma.

Parent Link

Parent Link at Reed's promotes formal and informal social contact between parents, especially for those new to the School, and provides support for School events.

Each year group has at least two representatives who act as a communication link with FORS. This is a purely voluntary role and there are no strict rules for what is required of a rep. Every new parent is contacted and welcomed into the School within the first few weeks of term and regular, informal year group events are organised for parents to attend during the year.

The Parent Link co-ordinator is Fiona Vigar. Please contact her by email with any queries or if you'd like further information on becoming a Parent Link Year Group Rep.
