After exams are done, feedback has been given and we approach the summer holidays we like to ensure our younger pupils have fun, whist maintaining an element of academic education. Last week the First Form (Yr7) had a blast with billhooks, birds of prey, jousting and never-ending spiral staircases on a History trip to Warwick Castle. A selection of Second Form (Yr8) pupils took on a series of Science and Technology challenges competing against other teams at Richmond upon Thames College. The robotics team of Matthew S and Ben M won the Robotics Challenge Prize! This was an excellent experience showing the boys how science and technology could be used in future careers. The Third Form (Yr9) enjpyed a Geog field trip to Guildford to investigate sustainability using data collection methods. The skills and knowledge gained will be extremely useful for those going on to take GCSE Geography. . #warwickcastle #sciencechallenge #geographyfieldtrip

We encourage all our pupils to be curious and to work independently. The culmination of this year's Nissen Bridgeman Project, completed by all pupils in Year 9, was an event showcasing independent thinking, creativity, and intellectual curiosity, as pupils presented the outcomes of their self-directed research projects. Topics ranged impressively across disciplines: from ancient mythology to artificial intelligence, from colonial legacies to the future of work. Each of the 13 finalists delivered their talk with confidence and clarity, responding thoughtfully to a wide range of probing questions from the audience and judges. Overall Winner for Best Project was Zachary G, whose fascinating exploration of Cloud Seeding combined scientific research with thoughtful ethical reflection. The Best Speaker Award went to Luke D for his polished and insightful talk on 'The End of the Office?', which stood out for its relevance, personal insight, and his personable style of delivery. All other speakers were awarded Runner-Up Prizes, reflecting the high quality and ambition of every presentation. It was an inspiring evening that celebrated the independence, curiosity, and intellectual ambition of all involved. . #independence #curiosity #intellectualambition
