Lower Sixth biologists carried out practical work investigating the factors affecting ventilation rate in live (!) locusts today. They also dissected a fish head to examine the gill structure. Certainly a lesson to remember!#curiosity #independence #BiologyLessons pic.twitter.com/1rdEeGm922

Today the Library was transformed into an Apothecary's Bookshelf for World Book Day. Staff and pupils had given book recommendations as 'remedies' for solving life 'ailments' such as relationship issues, feeling sad or lonely, worries about the world and so on.
The room was abuzz with pupils selecting books to 'cure' them.
Another fantastic initiative from our Head of Library, Ms Horton!👏

A group of L6 Historians travelled to Hampton Court Palace for an ‘A-Level Study Day’. The event featured a range of different activities to deepen their understanding of the course.
After an enlightening lecture from Dr Tracy Borman, a renowned Tudor historian and Chief Historian at Historic Royal Palaces, the students enjoyed an interactive classroom session, where they analysed and evaluated Hampton Court as a historical source for understanding Henry VIII.
The day finished with a presenter-led tour of the palace, providing first-hand insights into its rich Tudor history.

10 students from our Third, Fourth and Fifth Forms (Yrs 9,10 & 11) competed in the 'Top of the Bench' Chemistry competition. This involves employing practical and problem solving skills to complete an experiment and Chemistry questions under timed conditions. It was a fantastic morning involving much tussling with tricky puzzles and working with experiments that pupils wouldn't meet in normal lessons.
Congrats to year group winners: Cauan, Matthew, Luca and Cam!
